Cathy Woods, Debbie Sundal, Rita Bauer, and Rita Gray (seen at right) participated in an "Unhappy Hour" event at K. C. Barbeque Pit in Atlanta, organized by Rita Bauer, 2005-2006 Secretary and Legislation Chair.

The first ever legislation to require equal pay was introduced in the U.S. Congress as the Women’s Pay Act of 1945. This equal pay legislation was not signed into law until 1963.

As of 2004, the National Census Bureau estimated that women, on average, were paid only 76 cents for each
$1 paid to men. At the current rate of change, this wage gap will not be eliminated until 2039.
