Greetings from BPW/USA President Roselyn Ridgeway
(Taken from a letter written to the Southern District)

Return to November UPDATES!

Thank you all of your support in making the national installation a very memorable occasion. Actually, I have been receiving e-mails from members all over the country who have said that this was one of the best installations they had attended in years. Kudos to BPW/GEORGIA for a truly wonderful program!

Our efforts are not complete yet; we still have national conference in Dallas, TX. Next year that I will need your assistance and support. So please continue to fundraise so that we can have a memorable national conference.

Just a few highlights to share:

bulletAt national conference there was the roll out of year 2 of the five-year Strategic Plan. Along with that was the introduction of BPW’S new theme, Building Powerful Women-Professionally, Politically, Personally. This theme is a five-year theme that will coincide with our strategic plan.
bulletWith that there was also the introduction of the "10 Steps to Building Powerful Women," a program designed for the local organization to reach out to the community.
bulletThere was also the introduction of the new Military Membership Outreach Initiative, which is an exciting campaign to support women veterans. Visit the website to learn more about these exciting programs.

Since national conference I have traveled and participated in several events:

bulletSeattle Storm game in Seattle, Washington speaking at a Girl Power Rally sponsored by BPW/Wa and the WNBA regarding Title IX
bulletDallas, Texas presented the keynote address at city hall in celebration of the 19th Amendment. Sponsored by BPW/Texas and other women’s organizations.
bulletPhiladelphia, Pa. Participated on the keynote panel celebrating a woman’ s right to vote with Kay Maxwell, National President-League of Women Voters; Ellie Smeal, National President-Feminist Majority and Martha Burke, Chair National Council of Women’s Organizations. This program has been aired on C-Span.
bulletNew York for a meeting with Lifetime TV
bulletMissouri to meet with Hallmark
bulletKansas to meet with Sprint

Additionally, I have been receiving quite a bit of press not only here in Georgia but in other national news magazines as well. I have participated in several radio shows and have been interviewed on a live television program entitled Visions in Philadelphia. So as you can see I have been quite busy since conference but it has truly been a great experience.

I am hoping that I will have the opportunity to see you at Fall Board or State Conference, but if I do not, just know that I always keep BPW/GEORGIA on My Mind.

My Best Personal Regards,

Roslyn Ridgeway, President BPW/USA
