What a great way to start our 2005-2006 year with Patricia Stallworth and our vision sharing. OYA! Don’t forget to use the hands. (For those of you who weren’t there, we’ll explain later.) I’m thrilled with the excitement that was generated at the meeting. Already we’re:
Thanks to all of you who participated and are working to help us build. We are on the move! Warmly Peg Titus-Hall

Judy moved to Georgia from Mercer, Pennsylvania (60 miles North of Pittsburgh) three years ago. She lives in Forsyth County and was married to David for 23 years. Unfortunately he died before they moved to Georgia. Judy has two stepchildren and three step-grandchildren who live in western Pennsylvania. She has two cats, Thomas and Callie, that keep her company. Judy works at Integrity Bank in Alpharetta and has been a member of BPW for over a year now. She says she is very blessed to be a part of both and has met and made so many nice people and friends. |

The speaker, for the July 7th meeting is Carla Kesterson, a Financial Advisor with Morgan Stanley. The topic is "Empowering Women to Learn Financial Thinking." Carla teaches women to act as the intelligent, capable, deserving adult women that they are, deserving of riches. She will give a few simple steps to take the emotion out of financial planning/investing. Carla will build on Mark Hall’s presentation last spring on how "Smart Women Finish Rich." Carla’s focus will add needed tips concerning "Start Late, Finish Rich."
Next month we will have information from Rita and Skip Gray regarding the
National Conference. We wish them a great time In Philadelphia. |
The current VAWA is set to expire in September 2005, unless reauthorized. The House bill encourages community collaboration on solutions for transitional, long term, and low income housing to prevent homelessness of victims of violence. It provides a new funding stream for sexual assault services, and provides grant programs for services to victims with disabilities and victims of abuse in later life. In addition, it creates programs for violence prevention as well as assistance to children, teenagers, and young adults who experience violence. The healthcare provision focuses on improving identification and treatment of injuries from domestic and sexual violence. |
